How to set up your kid’s party table
When you know how to set a table for your children’s birthday party, everything else just falls into place, especially when the have a jumping castle to burn off some energy.
Once you have selected a theme for the party, whether this is simple or more complex. The table setting can match and help provide the party with more of a collaborative 'look'.
(A simple theme may be: A Colour, such as Blue; Pink; Green or perhaps a season, such as: Summer, Winter)
(A more complex theme may be: Pirates of the Caribbean; George of the Jungle; or Space Ships).
The table can then promote the theme, which means the activities can be set on the table, and of course, the food, whilst keeping everything in sync.
While the actual party may get hectic at times, setting everything up doesn’t have to be as well.
Set up your next child's party like a pro, here are some of our tips on how to do this:
- Decorate the table as per the theme of the party, especially when the table(s) are at the center of the party:
- Use coloured or themed knapkins;
- You can buy biodegradable cups, in the colour of your event or with the theme pictures;
- Straws, flowers and coloured drinks can be a great way to extend them theme;
- You can choose to buy coloured / themed plates, or utilise the accessories to promote the theme colours;
- Pictures could be placed on the table or used as 'table numbers; and'
- You can place each guest at their seats with their, very own, theme coloured or pictured place name tag.
- Arrange the healthy snacks at the front (arms reach of the table), this will encourage kids to try them.
- Ensure the table is reachable for the kids. You don’t want to be cleaning up the children's mess every 5 seconds, as they are unable to reach the food or games.
- Protect the table: Use a tablecloth to protect the surface of the table from spills and scratches. You can rent these or look to buy a cheap one, from your local budget store.
- Have different tables for various purposes for example: a food table; cake table; plates and utensils table; gifts table; or, perhaps, an art and crafts table.
Of course there are many ways to extend these ideas, but we hope this gets your cogs ticking and may offer some help in aranging the tables at your next child's birthday party.
