Underwood Park, Priestdale
Underwood Park is a park in Priestdale, in Logan, with a playground, BBQs, picnic areas and toilets. We've set up castles here before, so we know the park well. Here's what to know before you plan a party there.
Having a party at Underwood Park
Shelters and tables at Underwood Park are shared with other park users (even with a Council permit you don't get exclusive use), so get there early on weekends to claim a good spot. Council lists it as an ideal wedding location, so you may see ceremonies on Saturdays. There's an off-leash dog area, so set up a little away from it with younger kids.
Playground and facilities
Alongside the playground there is basketball, skate facilities, a BMX track and fitness equipment. There are public toilets, including accessible ones.
Around the park
Underwood Park is big, with gazebos and barbecues spread across the grounds and a small gazebo behind a lagoon with a decorative bridge. The large play area sits further into the park, and there's a big off-leash area for the dog. Underwood Lagoon, further along Underwood Road, has a boardwalk and viewing platform.
Sport at Underwood Park
The park is home to Rochedale Tigers Rugby League, Rochedale Rovers Football Club, RATS Cycling Club, Rochedale South Cricket Club, Logan City BMX Academy, Underwood Park Netball Association and Rochedale Girl Guides. Car parks and fields can be busy on game days, so check fixtures before you lock in a weekend date.

Underwood Park is at Underwood Road, Priestdale (Council lists 956-1028 Underwood Road for events). Allow time to find a park close to where you're setting up.

Council permit and event notice
Underwood Park is a Logan City Council park. Logan City Council asks you to fill in its Notify us of your event form for an event in one of its parks, and to allow 21 days for it to be reviewed. If your party includes a jumping castle or any other amusement, you'll need a permit, and the equipment needs a registration certificate from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (the Office of Fair and Safe Work Queensland). There's no charge to use the park for a private party, but a permit doesn't give you exclusive use, so you may be sharing the space with other park users. Power isn't available for event equipment, so Council allows generators as long as you manage the noise, and it can cancel permits in poor weather.
