Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve, Redbank Plains
Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve is a large Ipswich City Council sports and recreation ground on the corner of Cedar Road and Moreton Avenue, Redbank Plains. Alongside its seven ovals you'll find a playground, a skate park, picnic shelters and an off-leash dog area, so it suits a family get-together as well as a weekend of sport.
Having a party at Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve
The reserve has plenty of open kick-around space, plus picnic facilities and gazebos/shelters, which makes it a handy spot for a birthday or family day. Several ovals can be booked through Council between 6am and 10pm, and capacities range from 25 people in Zone 2 to 750 on Oval D. Some bookable areas have power and some don't, so check before you plan anything that needs electricity.
The playground and skate park
There's a playground for the kids and a skate park for older children and teens. The reserve also has an off-road remote control car track and a model aeroplane flying area.
Sport at the reserve
The reserve is home to the Collingwood Park Power AFL club, the Redbank Plains Bears Rugby League club, South East Redbacks Cricket and Westminster Warriors Soccer. Expect the ovals to be busy on game days and training nights.
Dogs, toilets and other facilities
The off-leash dog park is reached via Willow Road. There are public toilets and drinking water, but note that Council lists the toilets as needing a key. There's also a monument/memorial, and a library is listed among the reserve's notes.
