Having a party at Pine Rivers Park

Shelters, barbecues and the playground at Pine Rivers Park are shared with other park users, so get there early on weekends to claim a good spot.

About the park

The playground includes a flying fox, a pedal-powered train and a children's maze, and there is a nine-hole disc golf course. Parking is free, with overflow parking for big events. Council notes the park is on a flood plain, so keep an eye on the weather.

Council lists these facilities: playground, toilets, shelters, tables, stage and amphitheatre, water fountain, car park.

How to get there and parking

Pine Rivers Park is at 125 Gympie Road, Strathpine. Allow time to find a park close to where you're setting up, and tell us the exact spot so we can plan the carry-in.

Good to know

Power: Using Council electricity needs event approval, so most parties bring a generator. Ask us if you need one.
Pegs and surfaces: Tell us whether the castle is going on grass or a hard surface so we can bring sandbags if needed.
Weather: Bring shade and plenty of water on hot days. We can't run castles in strong wind or rain.

Council event approval

City of Moreton Bay says you need event approval for a gathering in a public park if it includes an amusement device, such as an inflatable jumping castle. You also need approval if more than 50 people will attend, you want to use Council electricity, vehicles need to drive onto the park, or you are putting up more than two marquees. Because a jumping castle counts as an amusement device, the party doesn't qualify as a small gathering or a low-risk registration. It goes through Council's Events Local Law application, so apply early. Council's events team can tell you what insurance and paperwork they need. Call (07) 3205 0555.
