Pallara Park, Pallara

Pallara Park is a Brisbane City Council park in Pallara, with 3 playgrounds, barbecues and public toilets. We've delivered party hire here before, so we know the park. Here's what to know before you plan a party there.

Having a party at Pallara Park

Pallara Park has 2 bookable park sites, but Council doesn't list any of them as jumping castle sites. Talk to Council about where a castle can go before you book.

About the park

Council's open data and OpenStreetMap show 3 playgrounds, barbecues and public toilets in the park, which covers about 18.0 hectares. There is a dog off-leash area in the park, so set up away from it if you have little ones.

How to get there and parking

Pallara Park is at 131 Gooderham Road, Pallara. Allow time to find a park close to where you're setting up, and tell us the exact spot so we can plan the carry-in.

Good to know

Power: Council power is only available where there's an outlet, and it has to be arranged with your booking at $31.55 per outlet per day. Otherwise, add a generator to your hire.
Pegs and surfaces: Council's park guidelines don't say whether pegs are allowed, so check with Council when you apply. Tell us whether the castle is going on grass or a hard surface so we can bring sandbags if needed.
Weather: Bring shade and plenty of water on hot days. We can't run castles in strong wind or rain.

Council permission and park bookings

Brisbane City Council needs to give permission for a party with a jumping castle in one of its parks, under the Public Land and Council Assets Local Law 2014. If you want a set area to yourselves, you can book a park site. It costs $217.55 per hour with a two-hour minimum, and sites are generally available from 8am to 7pm. Apply at least 5 working days ahead for a booking, or 10 working days if you need permission. Barbecues, other shelters and playgrounds can't be booked and are always shared. Council power, where there is an outlet, costs $31.55 per outlet per day. Vehicle access needs approval and a $110 key bond. Larger or higher-risk events may need $20 million public liability insurance. For questions, call Council on 07 3403 8888.
