Larry Storey Park, Waterford

Larry Storey Park is a park in Waterford, in Logan, with a playground, picnic areas and toilets. We've set up castles here before, so we know the park well. Here's what to know before you plan a party there.

Having a party at Larry Storey Park

Shelters and tables at Larry Storey Park are shared with other park users (even with a Council permit you don't get exclusive use), so get there early on weekends to claim a good spot.

Playground and facilities

Alongside the playground there is a boat ramp and waterfront access. There are public toilets. It sits on the river, with a boat ramp and canoe and kayak access.

How to get there and parking

Larry Storey Park is at 74 Albert Street, Waterford. Allow time to find a park close to where you're setting up.

Larry Storey Park features

Good to know

Power: Council says power isn't available for event equipment, so bring a generator if you need one.
BBQ: Council doesn't list BBQs here, so bring a portable one or a picnic.
Weather: Bring shade and plenty of water on hot days.

Council permit and event notice

Larry Storey Park is a Logan City Council park. Logan City Council asks you to fill in its Notify us of your event form for an event in one of its parks, and to allow 21 days for it to be reviewed. If your party includes a jumping castle or any other amusement, you'll need a permit, and the equipment needs a registration certificate from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (the Office of Fair and Safe Work Queensland). There's no charge to use the park for a private party, but a permit doesn't give you exclusive use, so you may be sharing the space with other park users. Power isn't available for event equipment, so Council allows generators as long as you manage the noise, and it can cancel permits in poor weather.
