Darlington Parklands, Yarrabilba

Darlington Parklands is a park in Yarrabilba, in Logan, with a playground, BBQs, picnic areas and toilets. We've set up castles here before, so we know the park well. Here's what to know before you plan a party there.

Having a party at Darlington Parklands

Shelters and tables at Darlington Parklands are shared with other park users (even with a Council permit you don't get exclusive use), so get there early on weekends to claim a good spot.

Playground and facilities

Alongside the playground there is water play, basketball and fitness equipment. There are public toilets, including accessible ones. Council lists it as one of its parks suited to large events.

How to get there and parking

Darlington Parklands is at 47-125 Yarrabilba Drive, Yarrabilba. Allow time to find a park close to where you're setting up.

Darlington Parklands features

BBQ Electric
Playground
Toilets
Fitness equipment
Wheelchair toilets
Basketball
Water play area
Picnic area

Good to know

Power: Council says power isn't available for event equipment, so bring a generator if you need one.
Water play: Council says the water play area is temporarily closed for maintenance, so check the park page before you promise the kids a splash.
Weather: Bring shade and plenty of water on hot days.

Council permit and event notice

Darlington Parklands is a Logan City Council park. Logan City Council asks you to fill in its Notify us of your event form for an event in one of its parks, and to allow 21 days for it to be reviewed. If your party includes a jumping castle or any other amusement, you'll need a permit, and the equipment needs a registration certificate from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (the Office of Fair and Safe Work Queensland). There's no charge to use the park for a private party, but a permit doesn't give you exclusive use, so you may be sharing the space with other park users. Power isn't available for event equipment, so Council allows generators as long as you manage the noise, and it can cancel permits in poor weather.
