How to get there and parking

Crockatt Park is at Oxley Avenue, Woody Point. Allow time to find a park close to where you're setting up, and tell us the exact spot so we can plan the carry-in.

Good to know

  • Power: Using Council electricity needs event approval, so most parties bring a generator. Ask us if you need one.
  • Pegs and surfaces: Tell us whether the castle is going on grass or a hard surface so we can bring sandbags if needed.
  • Weather: Bring shade and plenty of water on hot days. We can't run castles in strong wind or rain.

Council event approval

City of Moreton Bay says you need event approval for a gathering in a public park if it includes an amusement device, such as an inflatable jumping castle. You also need approval if more than 50 people will attend, you want to use Council electricity, vehicles need to drive onto the park, or you are putting up more than two marquees. Because a jumping castle counts as an amusement device, the party doesn't qualify as a small gathering or a low-risk registration. It goes through Council's Events Local Law application, so apply early. Council's events team can tell you what insurance and paperwork they need. Call (07) 3205 0555.
