Bumblebee Park, Ripley

Bumblebee Park on Sable Street, Ripley, is a bright yellow, bee-themed playground with lots for toddlers and a half-court for older kids. It's a cheerful spot for a small family party.

Having a party at Bumblebee Park

There's a grassed kick-about area beside the playground, plus covered picnic tables, bench seats and sandstone blocks to sit on. There are no toilets, so plan ahead.

The playground

A yellow net climbing sphere looks like a beehive. Two connected double-level forts are linked by a tunnel with a viewing window, and there's a big slide at each end. Toddlers get two ground-level play structures with musical elements and game panels, a small double slide, a bee spring rider and swings. Shade sails cover the forts, and the playground isn't fenced.

Accessibility

A ramp leads to one part of the fort, but it doesn't start at ground level, so children using a wheelchair may need a hand. Several toddler elements can be reached from the ground, and there's a message in braille.
