Having a party at Boronia Bushland Reserve

Shelters and tables at Boronia Bushland Reserve are shared with other park users (even with a Council permit you don't get exclusive use), so get there early on weekends to claim a good spot.

Alongside the playground there is a bike track. There are public toilets, including accessible ones.

The bushland

It's one of the last large patches of natural bushland in the area. Eastern grey kangaroos still live here, and you'll see scribbly gums marked with the tracks of beetle larvae.

Boronia Bushland Reserve is at Conlan Street, Boronia Heights. Allow time to find a park close to where you're setting up.

Council permit and event notice

Boronia Bushland Reserve is a Logan City Council park. Logan City Council asks you to fill in its Notify us of your event form for an event in one of its parks, and to allow 21 days for it to be reviewed. If your party includes a jumping castle or any other amusement, you'll need a permit, and the equipment needs a registration certificate from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (the Office of Fair and Safe Work Queensland). There's no charge to use the park for a private party, but a permit doesn't give you exclusive use, so you may be sharing the space with other park users. Power isn't available for event equipment, so Council allows generators as long as you manage the noise, and it can cancel permits in poor weather.
