Birds Nest Park, Redbank Plains

Birds Nest Park is a relaxed neighbourhood playground in the Eden's Crossing estate at Redbank Plains. It's a great fit for families with little ones, with a low toddler fort, a big rope climbing sphere and a grassy area for games.

Having a party at Birds Nest Park

There's a grassed kick-about space beside the playground, with shaded picnic tables nearby, so it's easy to keep an eye on the kids while you set up the food. A sandstone amphitheatre curves around one side of the lawn. There are no toilets or BBQs here, so plan ahead.

The playground

Toddlers can explore a cubby-style fort built close to the ground, with a tunnel, a wobbly bridge, a small slide, a shop window and talking tubes. Older kids will head for the rope climbing sphere. There are also standard, basket and hammock swings, a spinner, rubber balance mounds and shade sails over the equipment. The playground isn't fenced, but it's set back from the road.

Accessibility and getting around

Wide, smooth paths loop around the grass. They suit prams and wheelchairs, and they're good for kids on bikes and scooters.
