Having a party at Alexander Clark Park
Shelters and tables at Alexander Clark Park are shared with other park users (even with a Council permit you don't get exclusive use), so get there early on weekends to claim a good spot. Council lists it as an ideal wedding location, so you may see ceremonies on Saturdays. There's an off-leash dog area, so set up a little away from it with younger kids.

Playground and facilities
Alongside the playground there is basketball, fitness equipment, a bike track, walking tracks, disc golf, a fishing pontoon and waterfront access. There are public toilets, including accessible ones.

Around the park
Alexander Clark Park sits on a peninsula of the Logan River, with pontoons along the water's edge for fishing or launching a canoe. Walking tracks and bikeways wind through bushland, past blue gums that Council says are around 200 years old. The lower level of the park is popular for larger outdoor weddings.
How to get there and parking
Alexander Clark Park is at Dewar Drive, Loganholme (Council lists 120 Dewar Drive for events). Allow time to find a park close to where you're setting up.

Council permit and event notice
Alexander Clark Park is a Logan City Council park. Logan City Council asks you to fill in its Notify us of your event form for an event in one of its parks, and to allow 21 days for it to be reviewed. If your party includes a jumping castle or any other amusement, you'll need a permit, and the equipment needs a registration certificate from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (the Office of Fair and Safe Work Queensland). There's no charge to use the park for a private party, but a permit doesn't give you exclusive use, so you may be sharing the space with other park users. Power isn't available for event equipment, so Council allows generators as long as you manage the noise, and it can cancel permits in poor weather.
