Summer Activities for Kids During This 2021
With sticky health protocols and lockdowns, a lot of kids spent more time indoors. Fortunately, with the vaccine rollout, the world is now seeing a gradual return to the normality of social activities. In Australia, there are now places where children can play outside and families can enjoy bonding moments.
Now that summer is here, it is only natural for kids to have fun and finally have a chance to have enjoyment outside. Kids need physical activity in order to be physically and mentally fit, so here are six summer activities you can let your kids do:
Outdoor Activity
Let children breathe fresh air and bask under the sun with the following outdoor activities that the whole family can enjoy:
1. Start a garden. Cultivate your children’s love for plants by teaching them how to start a garden. You can help each other build the plot or the seed nursery. This is a great way to let your kids learn how plants grow or how you can get food from plants. There are a lot of science lessons you can teach just by tending a garden. From photosynthesis to the functions of the parts of a plant - the possibilities are endless.
2. Ride a bike. If you want to do something that the whole family can engage in, try biking. Biking is a good exercise and an enjoyable way to roam around the neighbourhood.
3. Hit the waterpark with the kids. It ain’t summer if there’s not frolicking in the water! If your kids skipped going to waterparks last year because of the global pandemic, there’s no reason why you will still hold them back this year (Except if there are still movement restrictions in your area). There are a lot of open waterparks in Australia where you can bring your kids and the whole family. The kids can enjoy the slides, pools, jumping castle hire Brisbane water inflatables and other cool waterpark features.
Activities at Home
Your kids can still enjoy summer if you are inside the house. If it is not possible for you to get out and enjoy the outdoors, you can do the following instead:
1. Read a book. It’s never too early to teach the joy of reading books. It can stimulate language development and it is also another way to foster your relationship with each other. Look for age-appropriate books for your child. If your child is already reading independently, try being together in one room while you read. If you have favourite children’s book authors, you can introduce them to your child too.
2. Watch movies with the family. Do you want a unique summer bonding time at home? Set up a makeshift movie theatre in the backyard! You will need a makeshift screen and projector for this. Play your kids’ favourite movie and prepare movie snacks to complete the viewing experience.
3. Get a backyard jumping castle. Make your kids’ summer extra special by getting a jumping castle hire Brisbane inflatable right in your backyard! Jumping castles may come in different sizes, designs, and rental costs. You can choose according to what your children would like or according to your budget. With a bouncy castle, the kids will surely have a summer they will not easily forget.
Let your children enjoy summer this 2021 with these fun and educational activities.
